You may be powerful, but without proper technique you cannot exert the maximal force that your body is capable of. So there is waste.
This is why tempo, control and awareness of barbell is important.

Our goal in technique is to deliver the enough of force to the barbell to drive it up. And for us to get under.

This is exactly why we build our programming around technique.

The whole idea of the Chinese program is because? We are a SMALL race. Genetically, we have more small Asians than big Asians. We aren't going to be stronger than others. Thus we have to be efficient in moving. Not strong. Not... Strong. We won't win the strength game.
